Our team is comprised of LEED® Accredited Professionals, who are continually learning about the latest advances in green buildings and technology, sustainable products and practices, allowing us to offer leadership and expertise vital to the creation of a sustainability community. Whether designed to achieve LEED® certification or not, our knowledge of sustainable construction is incorporated into the project process whenever possible.

809-813 W. Randolph
This 20,000 square foot existing heavy timber warehouse building was once home to the local neighborhood grocer in the 1920’s. Summit Design + Build restored the structure into a modern multi-use facility that now accommodates state-of-the-art office suites and a restaurant/bar establishment on the ground floor. Throughout the construction process, Summit worked to maintain the building’s original aesthetic charm. The office space incorporates high-end finishes that compliment the exposed brick and timber loft space. The structural layout and stair/elevator shafts were redesigned to accommodate the buildings new use by relocating existing timber beams and deck. A high efficiency HVAC system and carefully designed lighting plan provide substantial energy savings. All structural elements were reused, salvaged or maintained onsite and 95% of all waste recycled. Due in part to these efforts, this project is slated to achieve a LEED Silver rating for sustainable building.

Testa Produce, Inc. The Testa Produce project is targeting not only LEED Platinum status (52 of 69 possible points), but hopes to achieve over 60 points, which places it near the all time highest rated LEED project ever. The key sustainable features incorporated into this project include a 238 ft. wind turbine, a grey water system with internal cisterns storage for non-potable uses, hot water solar panels, an extensive green roof, rainwater harvesting and daylight harvesting among other environmentally friendly features.
