Adam Miller
President

As president and founder of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Adam is responsible for leading the firm's management team, as well as, directing the day-to-day operations of the organization. He also guides the firm's financial and strategic planning efforts to provide direction for the company's future growth and expansion.

In addition to his overall leadership role, he is involved in all sales, marketing and construction activities from initial client contact through budgeting, design and development and on to project completion.

Adam has been active in the office, commercial, retail, industrial and residential construction industry for over 15 years. He has personally overseen the planning, design, construction and successful occupancy of over 100 projects totaling in excess of 6 million square feet and $225 million in revenues.

Adam attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He lives in Glencoe, Illinois with his wife, Michelle, and their four children.

Jeff Harwood
Director of Field Operations

As director of field operations for Summit Design + Build, LLC, Jeff brings over 26 years of experience to the firm.

His responsibilities include overseeing the field personnel and operations, as well as, the development and management of the company's procedural, safety and quality assurance programs.

Jeff has personally completed a diverse range of residential and commercial projects including over 600 apartments, condominiums, loft residences, and multi-story, high-end town homes, in addition to, the completion of over 2 million square feet of retail, office, and mixed-use projects totaling in excess of $150 million in revenues. Some of his most recent projects include Church Street Station, a 17-story mixed use retail and 105 unit condominium building in Evanston, IL; 817 Washington, the conversion of an existing 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse building into 40 high-end loft residences in Chicago, IL; a 4-story, 30 unit condominium building with 17,000 sq. ft. parking garage in Highland Park, IL; and Court House Square, an intricate historical renovation of two turn-of-the-century government buildings into luxury residences, recreation center and offices in Wheaton, IL.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, Jeff held the position of project superintendent with Focus Development, Inc. in Northfield, IL where he was employed for six years. Jeff previously acquired design and construction experience with companies such as Brookhaven Construction General Contractors, The RJ Group, Ltd., and Dubin and Associates. He lives in North Barrington, Illinois with his wife, Donna, and their two children.

Nicholas Jones
Accounting Manager

As accounting manager of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Nick is responsible for the financial management of the company, as well as, directing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization.

Nick's other responsibilities include management of the company's human resources department which encompasses the insurance and employee benefits programs.

Nick has been active in the residential and commercial construction industry for over 3 years. He has extensive experience in management, accounting and financial operations within the real estate investment, development and construction industries, in addition to, having worked in the public accounting sector.

Nick attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration/Accounting with a specialization in Public Accounting. He is a former professional hockey player and is currently very active in coaching youth hockey. Nick lives in Chicago, Illinois. 

David Mooney, LEED AP, CPC
Senior Project Manager

As senior project manager of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Dave is responsible for coordinating and supervising the project’s design and construction process and daily activities to ensure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.

Dave’s responsibilities also include design coordination, permitting, project scope, budgeting, construction scheduling, as well as, subcontractor bidding, negotiation and administration. In addition to his project management role, Dave is also responsible for new business development.

He has personally been involved in numerous projects including Elmhurst Pointe, a 52,825 sq. ft. three-story senior living development with 32 senior living leasable units, second floor terrace and first floor common area and 3,600 sq. ft. of retail space in Elmhurst, IL; Costco Depot Frederick MD, a 300,000 sq. ft. cross dock depot with 181 docks doors, 160,000 sq. ft. of dry storage, 130,000 sq. ft. of cold storage, and 10,000 sq. ft. of office in Monrovia, MD; and Fountain Square on the River, a 185,902 sq. ft. eight-story high-rise condominium and retail development plus one floor of sub grade parking in Elgin, IL.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, Dave acquired over a decade of construction management experience as a project manager for Novak Construction Company in Chicago, IL and Pepper Construction Company in Chicago, IL.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He is a Certified Professional Constructor and a LEED® Accredited Professional, representing the firm’s commitment to be on the forefront of the LEED rating system in relation to design and construction. Dave currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.

Mark Heffron, LEED AP
Senior Project Manager

As project manager of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Mark is responsible for coordinating and supervising the project's design and construction process and daily activities to ensure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.

Mark's responsibilities also include design coordination, permitting, project scope, budgeting, construction scheduling, as well as, subcontractor bidding, negotiation and administration.

He has personally been involved in numerous projects including Converge Condominiums, a 33,000 sq. ft. five-story, 16 unit condominium building with interior parking garage and first floor commercial space in Chicago, IL; a 13,500 sq. ft. luxury single family residence at 1875 N. Orchard in Chicago, IL; Vue Condominiums, a 45,000 sq. ft. five-story, 22 unit condominium building with heated parking garage in Chicago, IL; and The New Belfort House, new construction of a 12,000 sq. ft. residential facility for Teen Living Programs in Chicago, IL.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, Mark acquired experience as a project manager for Norcon, Inc. in Chicago, IL and as a project engineer for KCC Group Design + Build in Deerfield, IL.

Mark holds a Certificate of Business and Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He lives in Chicago, Illinois with his wife Annie.

Tim Stoeckel, LEED AP
Project Manager

As project manager of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Tim is responsible for coordinating and supervising the project's design and construction process and daily activities to ensure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.

Tim's responsibilities also include design coordination, permitting, project scope, budgeting, construction scheduling, as well as, subcontractor bidding, negotiation and administration.

He has personally been involved in numerous projects including Niles Distribution Center, a 235,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility in Niles, IL; Irving Park Distribution Center, an 88,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility in Franklin Park, IL; Grand Warehouse, a 180,000 sq. ft. truck & rail distribution center in Northlake, IL; Park National Bank, a façade renovation and addition to a 11 story office building in Chicago, IL; Motorola Project Debbie, a 7 story 360,000 sq. ft. office building in Deer Park, IL; and Sacred Heart Church & School, a 13,000 sq. ft. worship center and 5,000 sq. ft. school addition in Winnetka, IL.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, Tim acquired nearly a decade of project management experience with firms such as Duke Construction in Rosemont, IL, Berglund Construction in Chicago, IL and Ragnar Benson, Inc. in Park Ridge, IL.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He lives in Arlington Heights, IL with his wife, Kathleen, and their two children.

David Brown, LEED AP
Project Engineer II

As project engineer II of Summit Design + Build, LLC, David is responsible for assisting in the design/build process and acting as a liaison to subcontractors and superintendents to ensure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.

David's responsibilities also include coordinating and troubleshooting activities in the office and out in the field; preparing bid packages, analyzing subcontractor bids; leading job meetings; writing contracts and change orders; and interfacing with Municipal and Regulatory agencies.

He has personally been involved in numerous projects including a 900,000 sq. ft. 10-story hospital in Los Angeles, California; a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office facility for Alpha Baking Company in North Aurora, Illinois; and a 10,000 sq. ft. office build-out for Webb Scarlett de Vlam in Chicago, Illinois.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, David acquired experience as a project engineer/estimator for Performance Contracting, Inc. in Anaheim, CA.

David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction Management from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Bryana Yergler, LEED AP
Project Engineer

As project engineer of Summit Design + Build, LLC, Bryana is responsible for assisting in the design/build process and acting as a liaison to subcontractors and superintendents to ensure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.

Bryana's responsibilities also include coordinating and troubleshooting activities in the office and out in the field; preparing bid packages, analyzing subcontractor bids; leading job meetings; writing contracts and change orders; and interfacing with Municipal and Regulatory agencies.

Prior to joining Summit Design + Build, LLC, Bryana worked as a summer intern at the firm, assisting the project management staff, for two summers. She is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering with a focus in Construction Management. Bryana currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
